Workshop Abstract

This one-day workshop provides an introduction to many useful Change Management principles, techniques, and guidelines necessary to facilitate a Software Process Improvement Program (CMM KPA Process Focus). It includes setting up a process improvement infrastructure, developing Team Skills, understanding and being able to apply change management techniques using the CMM as the basis for process improvement, and looking at process improvement groups as internal consultants.

In addition the workshop provides an overview on how to develop organizational process definitions that can be tailored and implemented at the project level (CMM KPA Process Definition)
  

Workshop Objectives

Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of how to:

• Guide their organization in setting up an appropriate process improvement infrastructure
• Understand what change management techniques are applicable in all phases of a Process Improvement Model
• Apply techniques to overcome barriers to process change
• Be able to identify team problems and work through them applying simple techniques
• Develop organizational process definitions using the ETVX technique
• Set up process libraries
• Establish good and best practices
• Choose organizational approved lifecycles, methods and tools

• Members of process improvement groups (Software, Systems, Business)
• Members of other groups who will share responsibility for process improvement such as Software Quality Engineers, Methods and Tools, Configuration Management, Project Managers trying to implement quality management and process improvement initiatives on their project.
• Senior and Middle managers who are supporting process improvement initiatives in their organization
• Stakeholders who are supportive of process improvement in their organization
  

Workshop Style, Instructors & Materials

The workshop consists of classroom presentations in English. Time will be reserverd for answering your questions. The workshop is given by two senior instructors of The Institute for Software Process Improvement and SPI Partners. Some parts may be given in Dutch if all participants understand Dutch. 
You will receive a binder with copies of all (English) slides and a set of related example policies, procedures and checklists.
  

Course Location & Pricing

Course Date & Location: 28 April 1999, Aristo Zalen Conference Centre, Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
Price: NLG. 1.295,- (excl. 17,5% VAT). The course price for successive participants from one organization and for one participant enrolling in more than one one-day workshop is NLG. 1.095,- (excl. VAT). We reserve ourselves the right to limit the number of registering participants per organization to four. Hotel accomodations are not included in the course fee. Upon registration you will receive a list of hotels in the vicinity.
  

Registration

Registration is handled by SPI Partners. There are three easy ways to register:

Payment and Cancellation Policy:

SPI Partners has the right to cancel the course at the latest 15 calendar days prior to the course's start date if fewer than 8 participants have registered at that time.
The invoice for this course will be sent by SPI Partners 15 calendar days prior to the course's start date. Payment on the SPI Partners Bank Account is due 30 days after the invoice date (so about two weeks after the start date of this course).
If you are unable to attend this course, your organization may delegate another individual from your organization instead of you until the morning of the start date of the course.
A cancellation fee of NLG. 200,= (exclusing VAT) will be charged for cancellations received more than 15 calendar days prior to the course's start date. Registrants whose cancellation is received after sending of the invoice, as well as no shows, are liable for payment of the entire fee for the course. All prices are in Dutch Guilders (NLG) and exclude BTW/VAT.
