Phase One: Initial CMM Assessor Training Phase |
| Step 1.1 | You have checked whether you fulfil the first
three SEI-requirements (above) for entering the SEI Lead Assessor Programme. If you haven't yet, you will follow the SEI's Introduction to the CMM course, which is publicly offered by SPI Partners and ISPI on 19-21 April, 1999 in The Netherlands. Completion of this course will fulfil the fourth SEI-requirement for enrolling in the SEI Lead Assessor Programme.
|
| Step 1.2 | You follow the Action Focused Assessment Method course. This is the
enriched (CAF-compliant) CBA IPI course, which is publically offered on 6-12 May 1999 in
The Netherlands. After completion of this course you have been trained in conducting CMM assessments for internal process improvement. |
| Phase Two: CMM Assessor Guidance Phase | |
| Step 2.1 | You decide to continue the CMM Lead Assessor
Education Programme. Your organization closes a contract with ISPI and SPI Partners for
your enrolling into the CMM Lead Assessor Guidance Programme.
Under this contract it is agreed that:
The fee for the ISPI/SPI Partners' Assessors and instructors is based on a daily rate only. If no assessments take place, there are no costs. Up to three junior assessors of your organization can be coached under one AFA Guidance Contract (without extra cost). |
| AFA Licence Contract | |
| After the succesful completion of the CMM Assessor Guidance Phase, your organization is entitled to take an AFA Licence Contract for your company's independent usage of ISPI's AFA-method and all supporting tools. The AFA-tools can be used for both AFA-assessments and Software Capability Evaluations (SCE). The tools consist of: | |
|
|
|
|
| The price for the Licence Contract is US$ 10.000,-. There is NO annual fee. The ISPI AFA-tools are improved continuously (e.g. when CMM version 2 will be released). Updates of ISPI's AFA-tools can be ordered for $1.000,-. | |
| Phase Three: SEI Lead Assessor Monitoring and Registration Phase | |
| Step 3.1 | Having completed two Action Focused Assessments
of which the results have been reported back to the SEI's Process Appraisal Information
System (PAIS), you now fulfil all SEI-prerequisites and you enroll in the SEI Lead
Assessor Programme. You follow the Lead Assessor Course at the SEI.
|
| Step 3.2 | You have now completed the SEI (CBA IPI) Lead
Assessor course. Before being admitted as SEI-Lead Assessor, you still have to execute one
more assessment in which you take the role of lead assessor. During this third Guided
Assessment your performance is reviewed by a Lead Assessor of ISPI or SPI Partners (under
the agreed upon CMM Lead Assessor Guidance Contract of step 3).
|
| Step 3.3 | Upon successful completion of the third assessment, the evaluator (Lead Assessor) will report the positive result back to the SEI. You are now ready to be registered as an SEI-Authorized Lead Assessor. |
