This official SEI-course introduces participants to the Software Capability Evaluation method (SCE). The course is based on version 1.1 of the CMM, released in February 1993. The SEI licenced only two companies worldwide to teach this course. The course starts with one day of CMM overview, followed by four days of SCE evaluator training. Participants are trained to execute and manage CMM software capability evaluations using SEI's SCE-method, which is extended with ISPI-tools.

The course is composed of lectures and class exercises with ample opportunity for participant questions and discussions. Participants will receive practical training on:

The number of participants is typically limited to no more than 24 per class to allow participants the maximum opportunity to ask questions and raise issues. Brian Gallant (see below) will be the lead instructor for this course. Depending on the number of participants, extra instructors will be added (1 trainer for each 8 participants).
